Iam having same problem with some achievements, such as complete 50% of skills (pretty straightforward, but doesn't unlock) and also "Mentor" at the main game.
Ive been playing Assassin's Creed on my xbox360 for awhile now (it's not plugged in to the internet). I just assassinated my second target, and I have many most of the combat achievements. My brother wanted me to play NHL 10 with him on our OTHER xbox360 downstairs, so I recovered my gamertag down there.
TheFly swatter one is the only one that I think you would have to restart a game to actually get it or spend money on the DL to get it.
